LayerNext, a Winnipeg-based AI fintech company building an autonomous AI CFO platform, has been awarded the Leadership in AI Award at the Manitoba AI Innovation Showcase, an event hosted by the Manitoba Association of AI Professionals that highlights leading artificial intelligence innovations across the province.
LayerNext was selected as the top innovation among eight finalist startups chosen from more than seventy applicants, recognizing the company’s work in applying advanced AI agents to automate financial operations and deliver real-time financial intelligence for businesses.
The award was presented on February 26, 2026, in Winnipeg, in the presence of The Honourable Mike Moroz, Minister of Innovation and New Technology, reflecting the province’s continued commitment to supporting emerging AI companies and strengthening Manitoba’s growing technology ecosystem.
LayerNext is developing an AI CFO platform that autonomously manages core financial workflows such as bookkeeping, transaction categorization, reconciliation, and financial analysis. Unlike traditional accounting software that requires manual data entry and delayed reporting cycles, LayerNext operates continuously in the background, keeping financial records up to date while delivering real-time insights into cash flow, financial risk, and business performance.
The platform uses advanced AI agents capable of multi-step reasoning, validation layers, and persistent financial memory to ensure accuracy while learning from historical patterns and user feedback over time.
By automating routine financial operations and surfacing meaningful insights, LayerNext enables founders and business owners to focus on running and growing their companies rather than managing bookkeeping processes.
